Pediatric Palliative Care

 

PQLC also works to ensure pediatric patients and their families have access to high quality palliative care. Pediatric palliative care aims to anticipate, prevent, and treat suffering through the continuum of a child’s illness by addressing their physical, intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual wellbeing. Because the needs of seriously ill infants and children frequently differ from those of adult patients, more consideration must be given in providing coordinated and family-centered care that meets the needs of patients, parents and caregivers, and siblings.
